Gift Wrapping

Christmas is right around the corner and you're all probably finishing up some shopping, and along with the shopping comes gift wrapping. I know that some people either love wrapping gifts or absolutely hate it, I love it.
I thought it would be fun to do a mini "How To" post, on how I wrap gifts, it is actually fairly easy, and I'll show you why!

DIY Candy Cane Holder

SO last minute, but hey, that's the way some of us roll.

If you have a chance to pop into a store, or you already have this material, it is inexpensive and totally adorable!

What you'll need:

♡ Paper
♡ Felt
Light, and dark grey
Pink, blue, purple, orange, red, green, etc.
♡ Scissors
You can use fun scissors with squiggly ends, or normal ends
♡ Goggly Eyes
♡ Mini Buttons
♡ Glue Gun
♡ Sparkly Sequins
♡ Candy Canes

You'll want to make the shape of a mouse on a piece of paper, oval with a pointed end on the grey felt.
You'll also need the shape of the ears (larger) and the inside of the ears (smaller), cut them out and the place them on top of the felt, and cut them out.

Make sure you cut two little slits on the shape of the mouse (grey felt, after the mouse shape is cut out) for the candy canes to go through, as seen at the very end.

My Christmas Playlist

We are at the prime time of the Christmas season to blast "All I Want For Christmas" and "Feliz Navidad" without receive judgmental glances. I don't know about you, but I've had Christmas music in my head, and random singing outbursts since last Christmas. Yes, I would actually randomly sing "Silent Night" in July, not sure why, just know I did.

So if you are in a mood to put on some fancy, snuggly Christmas tunes while you clean the house, do school work, take a shower, try to sleep, while you're driving, or just while you're relaxing, I've created a pretty heavy Christmas playlist on Spotify that I would love to share.

In the playlist you'll find all kinds of Christmas music, from instrumental, modern takes of classical Christmas music, original Christmas music from artists of today, and the past, to slow, peaceful music from Josh Groban and Fifth Harmony.

Let me know what you think, and feel free to create your own playlist with music from mine!

Decorating For Christmas

This is my absolute favorite time of year. It feels warm at home because the of the lights and cooking food, there are holiday movies playing on the t.v. and the Christmas commercials are playing left and right.
I can honestly say that the Christmas season is the one I enjoy the most, and look forward to all year (for crying out loud, I was sining Christmas music throughout the entire summer), so it's fairly easy to say that I thoroughly enjoy decorating for Christmas, putting up the tree, the lights, the smallest details warm my heart.
So I've decided it would be fun to make a post about Christmas decorating, this year my family and I have really gone a little bit farther with the decorations than other years, and that makes me extremely happy.

So if you haven't decorated yet and you need some inspiration, or you are in the mood to change it up a little, this is how my house is decorated this year!

Mockingjay Pt. 2 & The Hunger Games Exhibition

In honor of the FINAL Hunger Games film being released over the weekend, I've got something fun for you today!
I watched the movie yesterday and I cried like a BABY, because how could anyone not?!

Moving on, I went to the Hunger Games exhibition over the summer, and I really enjoyed myself. It was a fun little inside peek at the films, real props and costumes, and insider facts.

The exhibition won't be in NYC for long, however! It will be picking up and moving West in 2016 so if you haven't gotten a change to visit, make sure you do (obvs if you can!)

November Music Faves!

I don't even know how to contain myself with all the new music being released this month, what kind of wonderful gift/punishment is this?!

I was getting pretty bored of listening to the same songs, you know, I was listening to them every time I sat and plugged my headphones in so I'm extremely glad to have new music to satisfy my ears, heart, and soul.

I've created a playlist of all the songs listed below!

Pumpkin Carving

The leaves are changing from green to orange, red, and yellow. They are falling from the branches of the trees to the ground below us, making crunching sounds as we walk from place to place.
There is a chill in the air, and spook is all around as we prepare for another Halloween celebration.

I have never been a big fan of Halloween, I loved it as a kid, dressing up and parading around my school, I just grew out of it as I got older.
This year, however, I am in full blown Halloween spirit. I want to go to Haunted trails, and I want to watch scary movies, I want to eat candy, and go to Halloween parties, I want to dress up like I have never dressed up before!
BUT....most of that is going to have to wait.
So in the mean time, I think I'll just enjoy the beauty around me, and whatever spookiness I can get.

Believe it or not, I had never carved a pumpkin prior to this post. I've watched other people carve them, just never was interested enough to carve one myself!
This was finally the year that I took that official step, and went through with carving a pumpkin (and it was a workout).

5 of Blair Waldorf's Best Outfits on "Gossip Girl"

What girl hasn't had serious fashion envy on Blair Waldorf?
I know I have.
Watching the show I noticed the change in fashion (and technology) as the show advanced and the years progressed. Blair's attire in 2009 was completely different to her attire in 2012.
So here we are, 5 of Blair's best outfits (tough decisions)

I was instantly in love with this outfit when I saw it on B.
During that trying time in which she was engaged to Louis and was spending time with his ever annoying and conniving sister Beatrice who continued to attack Blair behind her back (also, in case you do not remember, Blair had just found out she was pregnant.......yeaaah)

Back when Blair was still very single (pre-Louis engagement, pregnancy, car accident, and "contract marriage") she was actually interning at W, until her boss quit and passed her position to Blair, who succeeded at first (in some quite fashionable attire like the one above), until she had so much on her plate and so little help it was over before it had ever really begun :(

"Drag Me Down" - One Direction in Space

Anything One Direction releases is highly anticipated, am I right?

So when they dropped their surprise single "Drag Me Down" a while back, it was no surprise that they also dropped the video for the song by "surprise" last night, or should I say this morning?

The Hunger Games - The Exhibition

During my trip to NYC I visited the Hunger Games Exhibition, you know, they had actual props and actual costumes worn my the actors in the movies.
Think of it kind of like a museum, with some other cool interactive moments.
I won't say too much about the exhibition, NYC is only it's first stop, next is San Francisco in January 2016, so I won't spoil it for anyone who might be visiting.

It was fun, and exciting to get to see items that were actually in the movies we all hold so near and dear to us.
(Spot the MockingJay pin..)

Fifth Harmony + Taylor Swift in 1989 | Instas of the Week

Lovlies!

I haven't brought an Insta Posts of the Week blog for you in a few weeks now, because I wanted to space them out a little and not have them be the only type of posts I was putting up every week.
I come to you today, however, with posts that will not disappoint!

Perfect Movie Scene in New York City!

I had a nice little visit to NYC with my family yesterday, and we took the opportunity to visit Bryant Park.
I had never been there before, so the stroll was actually quite lovely, especially so early in the morning when it was almost completely empty.
We spent a lot of time just hanging out there, they had a carousal (that was closed while we were there), they also had little food stands with coffee, and bagels which could totally come in handy if you're looking to have a relaxing park breakfast. There was an exercise group in the middle part of the park, doing tai-chi to a slow beating drum. There were couples, families, friends, all kinds of people just enjoying the beautiful weather, the breeze was just right, and the sun was not too overbearing.
It was like the perfect lunch scene from a movie.

Drag Me Down - One Direction's Surprise Single

2015 Photo of One Direction. Not my photo.

I woke up yesterday morning to a new One Direction song, if that isn't the start to a great Friday then I don't know what is.

I first heard the song on the radio, on my way to work....

Now, if you were afraid that the guys were going to sound off, or like something (or should I say someone) was missing, I am so happy to say that it sounds nothing like that.

I know you've probably listened to the song (I've listened to it a few times...and I am also currently listening to it) so let us just take a moment to appreciate the greatness, shall we?

"I've got fire for a heart
I'm not scared of the dark
You've never seen it look so easy
I got a river for a soul
And baby you're a boat
Baby you're my only reason"

Harry starts the song...and OMG are you actually listening to a new One Direction song??

"If I didn't have you there would be nothing left
The shell of a man who could never be his best
If I didn't have you, I'd never see the sun
You taught me how to be someone, yeah"

Louis continues, and the realization that, yes, you ARE listening to One Direction's new surprise song hits...and jeez, Louis sounds really bleeping good (no surprise there)

"All my life
You stood by me
When no one else was ever behind me
All these lights
They can't blind me
With your love, nobody can drag me down"

Liam sings, YES, yes Liam you better sing it.

"All my life
You stood by me
When no one else was ever behind me
All these lights
They can't blind me
With your love, nobody can drag me down"

Niall now chimes in with his lovely little melody of a voice.

"Nobody, nobody
Nobody can drag me down
Nobody, nobody
Nobody can drag me down"

Louis begins the chorus with "nobody, nobody" with Harry coming in and out on the rest of the lyrics

"I got a fire for a heart
I'm not scared of the dark
You've never seen it look so easy
I got a river for a soul
And baby you're a boat
Baby you're my only reason"

Niall sings and you can't help but do a little happy clap..

"If I didn't have you there would be nothing left (nothing left)
The shell of a man who could never be his best (be his best)
If I didn't have you, I'd never see the sun (see the sun)
You taught me how to be someone
Yeah"

YES HARRY, you better sing it...at this point you kind of want to jump up and down and bob your head back and forth (in a hardcore kind of way) and you're not too sure how to express your excitement through your dancing..

We are then lead back to Niall singing "All my life....." all the way through the chorus ending the song with "Nobody can drag me down"

And just to make you a little bit crazier for the song than you already are, here is a video of the boys performing "Drag Me Down" for the first time in Indianapolis last night:

This is One Direction's best single yet (for me at least...) and if this is what the first song off their new (and FIFTH ALBUM) sounds like, I cannot wait to hear the rest of it!!

My July Glam Bag | ipsy

Happy Weekend!
I love nothing more than receiving gifts in the mail, and that is exactly what happened today.

I received my magical, shiny, hot pink package with my July ipsy bag and goodies in the mail today.
I opened it up and was surprised and spoiled to some really amazing treats.

1. pūr~lisse

pūr~delicate gentle soymilk cleanser & makeup remover

I've never actually heard of this makeup remover but it contains a sulfate-free blend of Soy Milk, Whole Oat, and White Tea. It is so important to remove your makeup before you wash your face with your routine first step/wash. I'm excited to try this out, I do have sensitive skin and anything can upset it and cause breakouts, but I do hope this will work wonders.

2. cool way
Beachy Salty Spray
I do not usually use these kinds of sprays only because my hair can become dry very easily when I put certain kinds of sprays in them. I have tried the Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray, I usually use it to give my hair some texture when I've washed it. I'll give this spray a try and see what effects it has on my hair!

3. Crown Brush
professional tweezers
Look at those pale pink beauties!!
Who doesn't love a cute, hard working pair of tweezers?! I'm definitely excited to try these out.

4. Nicka k New York
HQ Quad Eyeshadow
There are two different pallets with four different shades being gifted by ipsy, and I got the type that I would totally use. I love the neutral colors and pink tones more than anything too bold, super excited about these.

 5. Teez Cosmetics
Read My Lips lipstick
I do not usually use lipstick because it dries out my lips, and I also just prefer chapstick over lipstick. However, this lipstick contains coconut oil, and it is super smooth. Color +moisturizing? Sounds like something I'm willing to try out. Look at the cute coral color, screams "summer" to me!

What was in your ipsy glam bag this month?

♡ Insta Posts of the Week ♡ 7.6.15

I usually prefer to posts my favorite Instagram posts of the week on Saturday or Sunday, but since I did post about the Boys of Zummer tour yesterday, I decided to post my fave posts from last week, today!!

I hope you enjoy a scroll through beautiful people/things/places :)

Liam Payne

Let's be honest here, how could I even choose one cute picture from Liam's trip to Disney World?! He goes from cute selfies with his girlfriend, Sophia, to beautiful fireworks above Cinderella's castle, to this one that I chose, and then he goes and poses with dinosaurs.
Looks like Liam is seriously enjoying some well deserved time off with the people who know him best :)

Fall Out Boy

I'm in there somewhere :) Look at Patrick Stump posing like a cupcake, love these duuuuudes!!!!

Taylor Swift

The photo is just so beaut. Not only are these two funny, but there friendship is so light and free :)

Camila Cabello

THAT CAPTION THOUGH.
I think many people feel that way at one point or another, so many people come from homes where their opportunities come few and far between and when something magical comes their way it becomes an out of body experience, a dream that you never thought would come true.
Love it.
OH. And Camila singing The Hills/Crazy in Love on the piano??!! If you haven't watched it, you better get going, it was stuck in my head all day..

That's all for this week!

Boys of Zummer Tour - Fall Out Boy & Wiz Khalifa

It has been a week and two days since I attended the Boys of Zummer tour, and today I am going to give you a little bit of insight on what it was like to watch Wiz smoke up the entire place and Fall Out Boy kill it with their undeniably, catchy songs.

Overall the concert was a lot of fun, there were many groups of young people, teenagers all over the place. There were also a few families, and some girls with a mom or a dad, or boys with a mom or a dad.
One of my favorite parts was when Wiz disappeared and then reappeared behind a majority of the crowd and right in front of the lawn audience, Fall Out Boy did the same. It was really awesome to have them slightly closer to us than they were on the stage.

Both acts put on a killer performance, and I also loved being able to feel the beats cause a rumble through the floor and to your chest, that is one of my favorite feelings.

I know the Wiz pictures are blurry (sorry!!!) but they are from the time he was standing behind us right in front of the lawn....if they're back it to me...then they were behind us facing the lawn!!! It was so cool, they stopped singing, everything went dark, a video started playing on the stage and then bam, screaming, and before I even knew what was going on everyone was slowly beginning to look to the back, and eventually...there they were!!

Such a sick experience, Fall Out Boy is definitely a must see :)

(all photos are mine, along with any on this blog, unless stated otherwise, please do not take them without asking me first, and giving me direct credit!!! thank you)

We Were Liars | Book Chats

We Were Liars.

This book. This book.
This is one of the most beautifully haunting, heart wrenching, and unexpected books I have ever read.

Upon reading reviews on the book, trying to decide whether or not I would/should read it, I decided I would. I ordered it, and when it arrived, I waited a few weeks to read it.

I got around to reading it on Monday, and wanted so badly to know what the big secret was that I finished reading it on Tuesday.

Let me just say that I actually had to get up  from where I was sitting to go somewhere private, by myself, to read the complete part 3.

The writing is so clever, there are clues of the Truth throughout the book, clues that, if you are clever enough, you will see but will not fully understand because "How do they tie in to the story at all? Then these must not be clues at all!" Oh, but they are.
The layout of the book is also quite different, there are chapters....but there are not. Or should I say that the chapters are either somewhat long or extremely short...
The characters steal your heart, and you see life through their eyes and you want nothing but for them to lead their own life, and not the life their family demands of them.
And when they must separate, you crave their togetherness, but when they are finally reunited you dwell in their happiness to have one another, you dwell in the warmth of their familiar friendship.
Only to be hit with the Truth.

As always, I will not tell you anything about the book.
But I will tell you this, the back of the book, gives you just the right amount of information you need to jump in the world of the Sinclairs, and the few who are still considered outsiders, even after so many years...

"A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends - the Liars - whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth."

 ⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

"Me, Johnny, Mirren, and Gat. Gat, Mirren, Johnny, and me.
The family calls us four the Liars, and probably we deserve it. We are all nearly the same age, and we all have birthdays in the fall. Most years on the island, we've been trouble."
(Cadence Sinclair)

Have you read "We Were Liars"? What did you think?
