What a Deal!!!

I know that this is a bit different to what I usually write about (very different actually). I know I usually write about celebrities and music and awards and XFactor and tours and all that good stuff, but I've been having a bit of a bloggers block, and there isn't much going on with the things I write about, being the holidays and all that fun stuff.

So I've decided to write about two things that I purchased that I think are FAB:)

So back in November I was looking for a parka, I had one of those with the fuzzy on the hood on my mind. Every time I went on Instagram or Polyvore I saw them and I really REALLY wanted one, so I thought I would look for one for myself. I looked on the internet, and I found a few pretty ones, but they were
$90 - $200 and haha I didn't have that kind of money, so I ended up in Forever21 and found a few, but none really caught my attention. Until my mom found one, it wasn't what I was looking for, but I tried it on and I really liked it..

It has a lot of cute little detailing, like the buttons on the shoulder section in the third picture, and the inside has that nice, soft pattern on it. Also, as you can see in the last picture, the hood is removable, and the zipper is hidden (I made it visible so you could see it). It is not heavy at all, but it keeps me sooso warm! It literally keeps my body heat within the coat, and it is just such a great purchase for the winter, especially if you live in an area where it gets cold and it snows (like me!) This is hands down one of the best purchases I have ever made, and it was only $40 say whaaaaaaat? Yup. I am so happy with this purchase, ugh I love it.

This last weekend, I went to the mall, and I could not bring myself to buy anything, I really wasn't liking anything I was seeing, and I was so frustrated. I went into Charlotte Russe, looked around and guess what I found? A dress that was on sale for $5, what even? It was originally almost $20, and I got it for $5.....I don't understand how that is even possible...

The print is a pastel floral, and it is such a good dress for the spring time, it has that pretty lacing on the back and the button up on the front, I love it.

So, if you really look, you can find some pretty awesome deals:)

I also thought I'd share a few of the items I got for Christmas, some rings (I'm a ring fanatic), earrings and the 1975 album (LOVE). Of course that's not all, but I thought these would be nice to share!

It's New Years Eve! I'll see you in 2014:) -J

XFactor USA 2013 Winner!

XFactor is over until next year, I am a bit sad...wah. Love XFactor and love to see all the talented people that come out of it.

And well, guess what, this last Thursday, our winners were announced.

Remember, the top 3 were:

Carlito Olivero
Alex and Sierra
Jeff Gutt

Now, our third place spot went to Carlito.
He was definitely very lovely about it. He was smiling and he also stated that he was able to make it to third and how amazing that was, I thought he took it very well.
After a few performances from One Direction, Pitbull, Leona Lewis and so on, right at the end of the show, we had Simon with Alex and Sierra and Kelly with Jeff Gutt, standing on either side of Mario Lopez.

Mario went on with his stomach turning, nerve-wracking little mini speech, then he he said that the winners of the XFactor 2013 were........... *extremely long and terrifying pause with suspenseful music* Alex and Sierra!!

Yup, Alex and Sierra won the XFactor 2013, and I think it was very well deserved.

Let's not forget Jeff Gutt. He is amazing as well, not only is he extremely talented, but I mean, from 2012 when he was sent home at Bootcamp and didn't even make it to Judges Houses, to 2013 and winning 2nd place?!!?! That's some pretty great improvement like seriously, I know he wanted first and maybe it was upsetting not to get it, but I think he accomplished great things, and he will continue to do so.

Alex and Sierra sang "Say Something" after their victory, and Alex couldn't even begin the song because he was crying, and Sierra was there to help him get through and sing and they sang to each other and she wiped his tears and all the contestants of the season came out running from behind the big moving screen on the stage and they surrounded Alex and Sierra and people were crying and hugging and there was confetti and everyone was dressed in white except for Alex and Sierra (and Jeff) and Alex and Sierra kept singing and Simon looked so proud and I was so proud and I wanted to cry a little. (Sorry for the run on, I'm just so excited) Well, yeah, it was epic and it was wonderful and beautiful and well deserved.

I love Alex and Sierra, and I cannot wait to buy their music and see what it is they will come up with!!!!

Congratulations to the Top 3, and everyone who made it to the live shows, you were fantastic! -J

XFactor USA: And Then There Were 3

Yesterday was the Semi-Finals on XFactor, and unfortunately we has to lose one act, and that act was Restless Road.

Everyone did an incredible job during their performances the night before, I think it was definitely a hard one, and I don't think anyone knew what to expect.

Mario sure did cause some sweating when he was about to announce the first act through the to the finals, he paused for what seemed like an eternity, and then said that we would find out after the break. Darn.
When they did come back from break, the first act announced through to the final round was Carlito Olivero, he then went on to sing "Suavemente" the performance is right below:

The next act through was Alex and Sierra and they sang "Let Her Go"

The suspense was  intense when the audience was left waiting in silence for the name of the third and final act through to the finals, Jeff Gutt or Restless Road? And the name called was Jeff Gutt. Who sang

Restless Road gave their exit interview and man, is it sad to see yet another group of talented ones go..

Next week we will see the Final 3, battle for first place. We will also get performances from Mary J. Blige annnnndddddd One Direction!!!! woooooo.

So next week will definately be an exciting week, I can't believe we're coming down to the finale now, seems like just yesterday I was watching day one of auditions. WOW.

So which of the top three is your favorite? -J

XFactor USA: The Final 6

Last night was the results show on The XFactor, and we were shocked once again to see two leave the competition.

This time, the two to go were Lillie McCloud and Josh Levi.

Josh Levi and Rion Paige sang for survival, after they each sang, the judges chose who they were sending home. Demi saved Rion, who is in her category, Paulina saved Josh, who was in her category. Kelly saved Josh Levi and Simon sent it to Deadlock, in which the decision is placed in the hands of the public, whoever had the least amount of votes from the public was sent home.

Josh Levi went home, and that was upsetting. But you know it is upsetting to see people go.

The final 6 are as follows:

Alex and Sierra
Ellona Santiago
Jeff Gutt
Restless Road
Carlito Olivero
Rion Paige

So it is exciting to see the competition winding down, just sad to see it coming to an end, since we do wait for it for a year and when it finally comes back it goes in the blink of an eye!

So next Thursday we will be seeing Emblem3 come back to XFactor!!!

They will be singing 3000 Miles and let me tell ya, it will be really awesome to see them come back on the stage where they catapulted to success.

Previous performers include One Direction, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, and Michael Buble.

Some pictures of these performances will be down below, so yeah, let me know if you tune in to XFactor and who your favorite acts are, or if your favorite act has already been voted off, are you hoping to see them make it far? -J

Catching Fire

I went to the movies a couple days ago, and I watched Catching Fire.

What a fantastic movie, I have read all three books and I get so excited to go watch the movies when they come out.

I was really excited to see how they portrayed everything on screen, I won't spoil it for anyone who has not watched the movie yet, but, I really liked the way they sped up some of the events.

If you have read the book then you know that some of the things they tributes find out and other events take a few chapters or a whole chapter, they take quite a while, and in the movie they were able to keep it correct like it was in the book but they did it quickly. If that makes any sense, I really liked that.

I loved the movie, the actors are just magnificent and Finnick is great and Johanna, everyone Katniss and Peeta, I just love everyone. And honestly, I cannot wait a whole year for the next one to come out, how am I going to wait for such a long time?! Well, let me know what your opinions on the movie were! -J

New York City!!

On Friday, November 22, I had to opportunity to go to New York. And let me tell you, although the Rockerfeller tree has not been lit yet, all the lights that cover up the trees and everything else around it, is beautiful.

I headed off to NYC at about 7:30 in the morning, the travel took a few hours because we got caught in traffic (I traveled on a coach bus), we passed Time Square and Rockerfeller Plaza and other small neighborhoods.

We traveled to the Statue of Liberty, but only saw it from far away, it was still really amazing to see, there was a bit of fog and it made the sight even more incredible. I thought it was pretty cool, I have never seen the statue in real life, and I feel like its one of those things that a lot of people want to see, so I am glad I was able to.

After we were given a chance to stand around and take pictures, we boarded back on the bus and headed towards and more upsetting destination. The 9/11 Memorial.Let me just tell you, the security you have to go through to get to the memorial is pretty intense, a little frightning, but if you have nothing to hide I mean, you're fine! After getting through security, we walked to the memorial, and you could immediately hear the water falling in the enormous fountains. As we walked closer to the fountains, the water was louder, and it was very chilly. It is a sad ground, it is beautiful what they have done with it. They are building 7 more towers, they already have a few, they have also already built the tallest skyscraper in North America. It was definitely something memorable.

Another thing we saw was the survivor tree, it was the only tree that made it through the tragedy that was 9/11. They found it under all the debris, and they took it out and nurtured it to full life, and they placed it in the memorial.

After the 9/11 Memorial we headed to Rockerfeller Plaza, where we were set free to have lunch and do some quick shopping around the area. That was a good time to really talk with friends and just have a good 'ol laugh.

We walked around the plaza, and took all sorts of pictures, of the Christmas decorations, of each other, we visited different little shops and did all sorts of fun things.

Look its the tree! Too bad it was all covered
up while they decorated it.

After about 3 hours or so, we were set to meet back in front of the NBC Experience Store, we were lead up the stairs of the store and were given our tickets and lanyards to put them in. We walked in were told and showed a few things, and our tour began!

We saw a few studios where the news and popular televisions shows are filmed, we got some insider secrets and told all sorts of things from lighting to cameras to different green screen effects. We got to see the Saturday Night Live set, and guess who was in there practicing his skits? GUESS. Okay, Josh Jutcherson. It was pretty darn cool to see him in person, really cool. Wow, taking a moment to think back on that, woah. He was actually in there...anyway, yes jhutch was actually in there and we got to see him, cool.

Photo and video are not allowed in the studios so I have nothing from that part of the trip:(

After that it was about time to go home, and when we stepped outside, wow. Take a look.

Obviously these pictures do not do the actual beauty any justice, but it is very beautiful.

After that we boarded the bus and headed home, it was a great trip, definitely something I will never forget.

If you ever get the chance to visit New York City during the Christmas season, or at any point of the year, take the opportunity, you will not regret it!

Here are some other pictures I took while on my trip:)

One Direction: Story of My Life!!!

The 'Story of My Life' music video came out today, and it is such a wonderful music video and it's like a nice little insight on the life of the guys from One Direction, it is sentimental and just lovely. Just lovely.

I'm not going to explain it, or tell you what happens here and there, I'm not going to tell you who does what, when and where and why.

I'm just going to let you watch it. Just watch, and admire, and love. -J

XFactor 2013: First Live Show!!!

Yesterday night was the first live show on the XFactor USA, and sadly, 4 people were sent home:(

Each category performed one at a time, first went Demi's girls. Starting with Ellona Santiago, and ending with Khaya Cohen. Then went the Paulina's boys, starting with Josh Levi and ending with Tim Olstad, they were followed by the Kelly's Over 25's starting with Lillie McCloud and ending with James Kenney. Last but not least were Simon's groups starting with RoxXy Montana and ending with Restless Road.

As each category performed and finished, they were placed on the tips of the X stage with a red light falling over them, only turning white when they were put through to the actual live shows in which the votes are by the people viewing.

From the girls, the one sent home by Demi Lovato was Danie Geimer, the boy sent home by Paulina was Josh Levi, the "over 25" sent home by Kelly was James Kenney, and the group sent home by Simon was RoxXy Montana. It was all really upsetting that they had to eliminate another four talented group of people, I was extremely upset with the eliminations, one in particular, but hey, I hope this isn't the last I hear of these talented people!!!

Final 12-

Demi's Girls:
Ellona Santiago
Rion Paige
Khaya Cohen

Paulina's Boys:
Tim Olstad
Carlito Olivero
Carlos Guevara

Kelly's Over 25's:
Lillie McCloud
Rachel Potter
Jeff Gutt

Simon's Groups:
Alex and Sierra
Sweet Suspense
Restless Road

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the Final 12!

So the performances, I think that everyone did a great job in their own way, everyone has a different style and they worked it according to what they were singing and such, and I think that it was all a little different and I cannot wait to see more.

Rion was on fire, her performance was wonderful and she was a little butt-kicker. Ellona was a total diva, and wow, props to her for being able to do a whole dance number, run and jump, and sing (without losing her breath) especially with all the pressure and nerves I'm sure she was under. Khaya's voice is so unique, I can see her getting far in the competition. Jeff Gutt's performance was amazing, love his voice, Rachel definitely redeemed herself yesterday, wonderful performance. Restless Road definitely surprised me with their choice of song, but they added their own country...ness...? to it! Alex and Sierra, I adore them. I think they are amazzziiiinnnggggg, I really hope to see them get far in the competition!

I know I didn't get everyone but trust me, everyone gave it their all, and I cannot wait to see what more they have to give next week!! Below are some of the performances from last night! :)

That's all I'll put here, but there were many more great performances! Check them out here!! -J

Selena Gomez and Emblem3 Concert: Mohegan Sun Arena

Selena Gomez and Emblem3 were in Connecticut yesterday, October 19. My family and I headed off to Mohegan Sun at around 3:30pm, the drive was about an hour, and it was soo much fun. Personally, I really like long car rides, they are fun and it's like an adventure. We had some snacks for the way, and we just drove, and as we got closer and closer, the excitement grew. The signs for Mohegan were beginning to appear more and more often, soon the tall, beautiful buildings were in sight!!

We drove our way over to a parking, and soon we were out of the car, on our way to an elevator, headed into the building!

There were children with their parents, and teenage girls with their friends everywhere!

Walking around, we saw some extremely beautiful areas, a candy store, and the hotel lobby, the tree in front of a waterfall bar/restaurant.

The entrance to the arena looked marvelous, and it was extremely exciting to walk past it every time, it was only about an hour until doors opened.

We stopped by Starbucks and got ourselves a drink and an apple fritter. We walked back over to the entrance of the arena, and the crowd was already larger than the last time we had passed by it. Soon it was 6pm and the doors were opened! Everyone crowded near the entrance, and some people were patted down by security, and we had our bags checked, tickets were scanned, and we were in! We found our seat entrance (since there are different entrances for each section) and the usher lead us to our seats, where we waited for the show to begin!

The first performer was a YouTube originated singer named Christina Grimmie, she was very good, her performance was lovely.

After she was finished, the lights came back on and the Emblem3 stage set was revealed!!!!

The crowd waited for a bit longer and then, the guys of Emblem3 popped out of the E3 box and really got the party started.

They sang Sunset Boulevard, XO, Girl Next Door, 3000 Miles, One Day, Just For One Day, Spaghetti and a cover of Diamonds
I seriously enjoyed Emblem3 and I cannot wait until they are on their own tour, that is something I am looking forward to very much.

After Emblem3 was gone :( .. the Selena Gomez set was prepared, and it was very elegant, I thought.

Again, the crowd waited for a bit, and then the lights went off and the band began beating at the drums and playing their guitars. The video began playing on the screens and Selena came out.

She performed new songs and old songs, she ran and danced, she was amazing and beautiful and it was a lovely experience. Here are some other pictures I took, I hope you get a chance to see them if you like any of them!

:) - J
